Not knowing what to expect as this was our first trip to Mallorca, we were driving on the road from the airport to the village of Valdemossa. About two kilometers before the village we saw a rusty sign on the side of the road saying ‘Mirabó’. Not to be missed because large enough, but the small windy road leading us up hill didn’t seem quite right. But every time we wanted to turn around (which was hardly possible since the road was so narrow) there was a sign saying ‘Mirabo 0,7 km’, or ‘Mirabo 0,3 km’. And as we took the last turn a breathtaking view unfolded in front of us.
In the middle of nowhere, on the mountain side, a centuries old finca was basking in the sun. When we arrived and looked around we found out the view from the hotel was stunning in all directions. To one side the very old village of Valdemossa, to the other the gorgeous mountains. No roads or traffic to be seen anywhere, just nature.
It took us two days to dare talking out loud, the peace and quiet was amazing.
A very friendly and tranquil atmosphere, beautifully finca style furnished rooms, an infinity pool with lots of space and the ultimate view. Breakfast was a mouthwatering buffet, it was also possible to have a small lunch and dinner.
All in all, when in search of zen, beauty, luxury and being spoiled, this is the place to visit.

After visiting the town of Deià we continued along the coast and took a little street downwards towards the seaside, Cala Deià. When you are almost there, you have to park your car and continue walking for the last 10 minutes. And suddenly behind the corner you are surprised by a small and beautiful bay with waves coming in. People are bathing or having a drink/lunch at one of the two restaurants.
Above restaurant lies astonishing half above the sea and when you are up there, you are rewarded with great views. We were just lucky that someone cancelled his reservation and a table came free.

Mallorca is not that large and changes are high you drive close by Santa Maria, in the centre of the island. Apart from the great market on Sundays, the town is not that much worth a visit. But this gelateria is worth a little detour.
Yummy Italian ice in all possible flavours. Our holiday house was not too far away from this town so we made sure to come by regularly.
Apparently they also have a branch in Palma.
On of our daytrips on the island of Mallorca brought us via some winding roads to Deià. A very small and cute little town where you can walk around and discover new views behind every corner. A romantic small church where we lit a candle for our beloved ones who aren’t here anymore. Adjacent a small graveyard with one of the best panorama’s.
We happened to past by this little hotel and had a drink on the terrace while enjoying the views of the opposite mountains. It seems very much as if you are alone in this corner of the village.
I was not able to see and sleep in the rooms but the setting and interior looked so beautiful that based on what I saw, it seems very much worth trying out.
